Online keyboard

Type Baybayin online

Build a phrase sign by sign. Add vowel marks, edit at the cursor and copy real Unicode text without installing a keyboard.

Place the cursor or select text before using a key. Add a vowel mark after its consonant. Backspace removes a complete sign and its attached marks.

Possible Latin reading: mahal kita

For a tattoo, verify the intended pronunciation and send that Latin spelling to the tattoo tool. Raw script is not sent to the Latin-input tattoo converter.

Three steps to a readable draft

Choose a base sign, add a vowel mark if needed, then move to the next sound. Independent vowels have their own keys. A consonant already includes the vowel A, so typing a separate A after every consonant changes the sequence.

Keep marks with their signs

A vowel mark on its own has no consonant to modify. The editor flags detached or conflicting marks and keeps exports disabled while those warnings remain. Use Backspace to remove an entire sign cluster, or use the native text cursor to make a more precise correction.

Writing is different from translating

The keyboard inserts signs you select. It does not infer the meaning of an English or Cebuano sentence. For a sound-based starting point, use English pronunciation or the Cebuano converter. Study the character chart to learn the signs.

Questions before you start

Do I need to install a Baybayin keyboard?

No. Use the on-screen signs in your browser. They insert real Unicode into the draft at the cursor or replace a selection. You can also paste text from another keyboard.

How do I type ki or ku?

Insert ka, then add the I/E vowel mark for ki or ke, or the U/O vowel mark for ku or ko. The inherent vowel without a mark is a. Insert the virama after a consonant to cancel that vowel in modern writing.

Why does the Latin reading show alternatives?

Baybayin shares E/I and O/U signs, and this keyboard uses the shared D/R sign. The reading is a possible sound sequence, not a unique Tagalog translation. Context and pronunciation decide the intended word.

Can I copy the signs into another app?

Yes. Copy preserves Unicode characters. Their appearance depends on the receiving app's font support. Free font-embedded SVG and PNG exports preserve the displayed lettering more reliably.
