English pronunciation
English to Baybayin, by sound
English letters can hide the sounds you mean. Start with a clear pronunciation, inspect each unit, then save the lettering.
Choose pronunciation before conversion
A name such as Michael can be pronounced differently across families and languages. The example Maykel is an adaptation you can edit, not a claim that English spelling has one automatic equivalent. Say the word aloud and choose a simple Latin spelling that preserves the sounds you want.
Meaning and writing are separate steps
If your source is an English sentence, decide whether you want to keep its spoken sounds or express its meaning in a Philippine language. This tool handles the writing step. For a phrase like “I love you,” you may choose the Tagalog phrase Mahal kita after checking the meaning, rather than transcribing the English sentence.
Check the exported lettering
Compare the sound guide with the original pronunciation. Pay attention to final consonants and shared vowel signs. Free exports preserve the generated text; they do not add language review. For a name, the name translator keeps your original spelling beside an editable pronunciation field. For typed signs, use the online Baybayin keyboard.
Questions before you start
Does this translate English meanings into Tagalog?
No. It transcribes the pronunciation spelling you enter into Baybayin. If you want a Tagalog phrase, confirm the translation with a speaker first, then transcribe that phrase.
Why should I type Maykel instead of Michael?
English spelling does not reliably identify pronunciation. Maykel is one possible Filipino-friendly adaptation of Michael. Use the pronunciation you intend; there is no universal spelling for every speaker.
Can Baybayin represent every English sound?
Not exactly. This tool approximates borrowed consonants and shares E/I, O/U and D/R signs. It uses modern final-consonant cancellation marks. Review those choices before using the result.
Can I export the result?
Yes. Copy the Unicode text or download free PNG and font-embedded SVG lettering. See as tattoo carries your current pronunciation into the separate tattoo preview and optional Artist Pack.
