English spelling can hide a sound or suggest the wrong vowel: entering Michael letter by letter does not tell the converter that you mean Maykel. The two fields above keep your original name beside the phonetic spelling you choose.
Read the marks, not just the silhouette
The sound guide exposes the units the converter uses. A final consonant receives a modern vowel cancellation mark. E and I share a vowel sign, as do O and U; this tool also uses the shared D/R form. Your exported lettering preserves those choices. Changing a font cannot fix an incorrect pronunciation.
